Angelo Badalamenti vs Opus III - Lauren’s Opus

David Lynch is best known as the master of weird Americana, but he’s also directed some of the most moving films of the last 30 years, namely The Elephant Man and The Straight Story. The latter’s beauty is greatly enriched by Angelo Badalamenti’s sumptuous soundtrack, and it’s worth watching the film for the track Laurens Walking alone.

Now I know I’ve already used Laurens Walking in a mashup once (last year’s Shut Up and Walk), but I felt I had yet to do full justice to the beauty of the track. I’ve hopefully put that right now by pairing it up with Kirsty Hawkshaw’s dreamy vocals from Opus III’s early ’90s dance version of It’s a Fine Day

Thanks Andy, I’m glad you like it. I feel like I’ve finally done justice to the beautiful Angelo Badalamenti track now and hopefully notched up another track for David Lynch compilation.

And thanks for your beatiful words, Phil. I know I’ve strayed into your territory with this one, so your comments are doubly welcome.

    Cheers

Another home run for you Gavin. When’s the movie coming out? ;)

  5. Gavin Says:

Thanks, Colorebel. You don’t get to see all the foul balls between the home runs, and I aim to keep it that way ;) I reckon I’ve probably missed the summer blockbuster season now so production of the movie is on ice, for now at least…

    Cheers
    Gav
